PRODUCTS

Here at Kelpics we strive to make developments to improve bioplastic technologies. With our kelp based bioplastics we create reusable plastics that can be used in many different industries. We produce a variety of plastics from soft  to hard plastics. Our soft plastic products include edible water, plastic bags, drink bottles, and punnets. Our hard plastics products primarily include products used by local fishermen and farmers.

Our selection of products is a simple list as we begin production. We plan to scale up our product range in the future but these products are in high demand and are some of the most commonly found waste products. By making these products from our eco-friendly kelp bio-plastic we ensure that these products won’t negatively impact on the environment and can be reused and recycled over and over again.

EDIBLE WATER

Edible water are bubbles made of a seaweed membrane that are filled with water.  These water bubbles are quick and easy to consume and are fully biodegradable if they not ingested. These bubbles are perfect for entertaining, as water sources for marathons or something for on the go and can even be flavoured to be more enjoyable.

PLASTIC BAGS

Plastic bags are everywhere. The most common ones were the single use but are now the reusable bags.  Our alternative is not only reusable but also biodegradable unlike our competitors. Our bioplastic bags are purposely designed to minimise the impact on ecosystems when they find their way into nature.

DRINK BOTTLES

Drink bottles are such a common everyday item  that we often don’t think about their impact. These bottles can take over 450 years to break down, all while releasing microplastics into the waterways and affecting sea life. Our drink bottles will not have this impact. Our bottles won’t release harmful microplastic as they break down and will break down within a year.

PUNNETS

Punnets are commonly used for berries and other fruits. These punnets, like drink bottles last over 400 years and break down into harmful microplastics. Our bioplastic punnets provide the same great freshness and quality of the old punnets but with the added bonus of being non-lethal to the environment.

HARD PLASTIC

Our goal with hard plastics is to communicate with the local farmers and fishermen to find out exactly what plastic equipment they use so we can produce these for them using bioplastic. By doing so, we not only grow our relationships with local communities but also introduce them to the reusable eco-friendly plastics we create so they can help improve the environments they work and live in.
